Wayne Brickey

Wayne Brickey

Wayne Brickey grew up in San Diego and served a mission in the Great Lakes area. He attended San Diego State University and Brigham Young University, where he received his doctoral degree in higher education curriculum. Brother Brickey started teaching for the Church Educational System in 1969. For many years, he has been a popular lecturer in Education Weeks and other CES programs.
In 1998 he received a Teaching Excellence Award from the BYU Division of Continuing Education. A long-term friend said, "I am always inspired and learn new things when I hear Wayne speak." Brother Brickey is the author of the inspiring books Making Sense of Suffering, Peace Be Still, Inviting Him In—How the Atonement Can Change Your Family, and 101 Powerful Promises from Latter-day Prophets. Brother Brickey is an experienced tour director, who has conducted tours to the Holy Land and Church history sites. He also participated in a recent directors’ training program in Central America. His background and experience enable him to provide a well-rounded experience for participants in his tours.
Brother Brickey married Joanne Rossi in 1967, and they have 12 children. His great interest is his family. Some years ago, a health concern prompted Brother Brickey to begin lifting weights. This became an avid interest, in which he now holds several state records. He also enjoys yard work, motorcycling, and family history.
