Dr. Allan Gunnerson was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended the University of Utah and completed a bachelor’s degree in cultural geography and international relations. He received a master of education degree in secondary school administration and a doctor of education degree in higher education administration from Brigham Young University.

Joel earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, Sociology and Psychology at Weber State College in 1970, and received a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology from BYU in 1975. Since that time he has been a student of Biblical Hebrew, ancient Near East History, and Geography of the Holy Land.

Ted earned his Master's degree in Audio and Visual education. He was hired by the Church Educational System to teach seminary in Phoenix, AZ. Then, in 1980, after returning from the Church Educational System's tour of Israel, Ted moved his family to Orem, Utah, where he began work on a Doctorate at BYU in instructional science.
