This island offers those and other simply gorgeous landscapes to ogle at, including some of the most incredible sunsets. Santorini was formed by a volcanic eruption that shaped Santorini around a caldera, surrounded by steep cliffs. This volcanic history has also added to the island's rugged, black sand beaches and multi-layered cliffs. Some even believe the lost city of Atlantis is near this island.
